FLDC Awarded Grant to Support the 2nd Annual Fairport Plein Air Festival
The grant will directly support the 2nd Annual Fairport Reimagine the Canal Plein Air Festival to be held September 30, 2023 in the Village of Fairport, New York.
The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the New York State Canal Corporation announced NYS Canal System Tourism Infrastructure and Event Grants totaling $190,000 in 2023. The grants will support seven tourism infrastructure and amenity improvements and 35 events along canal waterways and the Canalway Trail.
The Village of Fairport Local Development Corporation was awarded $2,000 to support the second Annual Fairport Reimagine the Canal Plein Air Festival to be held September 30, 2023. Hosted by the Fairport Public Arts Committee, the Festival will welcome local and regional artists to spend the morning painting along the historic Erie Canal waterway and throughout the Village of Fairport. Art lovers will be able to observe the artists as they paint. A public reception, exhibition, and sale of the art will take place in the afternoon.
