Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies Mark Completion of Historic Redevelopment Project

The Village of Fairport celebrated the completion of a multi-phase redevelopment effort that has revitalized a historic downtown block, transforming underused properties into vibrant community spaces.

The development, led by local entrepreneur Angelo Ingrassia, began with the adaptive reuse of the former Fairport National Bank and Trust Company, a historic building constructed in 1924 and designated a local landmark. That building is now home to Bonnie & Clyde, a modern American restaurant and cocktail bar that opened earlier this year and has quickly become a community favorite. Bonnie & Clyde offers a seasonally inspired menu, global wine list, and curated craft cocktails in an inviting atmosphere blending contemporary design with preserved architectural elements of the original bank. The restaurant recently debuted an outdoor patio with barstool seating through the former bank’s drive-through teller window. Bonnie & Clyde was developed by Ingrassia with support and business incentives from Fairport OCED.

On July 11th, the grand opening of Starbucks next door marked the completion of the redeveloped block. The 2,500 square foot café features both indoor seating and a spacious outdoor patio, further enhancing the walkability and activity of Main Street. Together, the two businesses bring new life, new jobs, and new energy to the Village core.

“Strategic investments like this are essential to driving long-term economic vitality within the Village,” said Johnna McCooey, Executive Director of the Fairport Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED). “By turning a previously underutilized site into an active, engaging destination, this project not only supports local job creation but also attracts foot traffic that benefits the entire Main Street business district.”

“It’s been a privilege to help bring new life to this block of Main Street,” said Angelo Ingrassia, developer of the project. “Our goal from day one was to create a space that adds energy, jobs, and long-term value to the community. We’re proud to partner with the Village and Fairport OCED to make that vision a reality.”

The Starbucks building was designed by local architectural firm Hanlon Architects, who worked closely with Ingrassia, the Historic Preservation Commission, and the Village Planning Board to ensure the design reflected and enhanced the character of Fairport’s historic downtown. The new location brings over 20 local jobs to the community. Store hours are 5:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

“We’re excited to be part of the Fairport community and to welcome our neighbors into this beautiful new space,” said Racheal Devine, Store Manager. “Our team includes local hires who care deeply about delivering a welcoming experience, and we’re looking forward to becoming a go-to spot for connection, conversation, and great coffee right in the heart of the Village.”

Sustainability at the Forefront

The Fairport Starbucks is also setting a new sustainability standard. All employees at this location have voluntarily committed to using glassware or personal reusable cups, eliminating their use of plastic drinkware. Customers are strongly encouraged to join the effort and are rewarded for doing so. Guests who bring their own reusable cups will receive double Stars on their entire order through the Starbucks Rewards program. The store is also committed to recycling both cardboard and plastic.

“This initiative reflects the values of our team and our customers,” added Devine. “We’re proud to be creating a store culture that promotes environmental responsibility.”

Giving Back to Fairport

In addition to its sustainability efforts, the store team will participate in the Starbucks Giving Match program, which provides a $5 grant to qualified nonprofits for every hour an employee volunteers. To help connect with local organizations, the store will feature an on-site suggestion box where nonprofits can request volunteer support from the Starbucks team.

“Fairport has a strong culture of giving, and our team is excited to be part of it,” Devine said. “Whether it’s lending a hand at a local pantry or helping with events, we want to be active and engaged within the community.”
