LIFT Grant Program – Pandemic Relief
Fairport Local Development Corporation Pandemic Relief grant program approves more than $135,000 in funding to assist small businesses impacted by COVID.
(Fairport, NY – November 22, 2021) The Village of Fairport Local Development Corporation (FLDC) has approved 14 new grant awards of more than $75,000 to help owners of commercial properties or business owners make improvements that enhance the attractiveness of the commercial corridor of the Village of Fairport. These grants will provide reimbursement for costs related to signage, awning, façade or street frontage improvements.
These grants were made as part of the FLDC LIFT grant program which was introduced in August 2020 to provide reimbursement for purchase of COVID related supplies, services and renovations to enable businesses to adapt to COVID-19 restrictions. In response to business needs, the program was further expanded to provide grants to businesses that were forced to close due to required quarantine, to help offset the higher costs of takeout supplies and third-party delivery fees and to make capital improvements. In total, the program approved 56 grants totaling more than $135,000.
“We recognize the key role that our businesses play in making the Village of Fairport a unique destination for shopping, dining and entertainment,” said Kevin Clark, FLDC Board Chair. “Like many, our small businesses were particularly hard hit by the pandemic. The LIFT Grant program underscored our commitment to ensuring the future of the Village of Fairport as a diverse and vibrant business district for residents and visitors alike.”
