(Fairport, NY – September 26, 2018) The Fairport Office of Community + Economic Development (OCED) is pleased to announce it has awarded a $2000 matching grant through the Front Porch Grant program that helps Village residents to renovate, repair or upgrade their front porches.
OCED Board Member and Village Trustee Ken Rohr presented the check to Michael & Melissa Folino of Deland Park A. The $2,000.00 matching grant enabled the reconstruction of their front porch in a manner compatible with traditional styles and details appropriate to the original home.
“The Village of Fairport is a traditional ‘Front Porch Friendly’ community with walkable neighborhoods,” said Mr. Rohr. “The front porch is a great place for entertaining and getting to know your neighbors. Our matching grant program will make it more affordable for homeowners to renovate or upgrade their porches to enhance their homes and neighborhoods.”
“We wanted to do this project the right way, and the Front Porch Grant helped us upgrade to include traditional details,” said the homeowner Mike Folino. “One of the reasons we love Fairport is the neighborhood feel of the Village, and we look forward to sharing our new porch with our neighbors!”
